Small Steps

Jerry continues to have visits from PT, OT and speech therapy along with the rest of the care team. Some small but promising signs include:

  • While holding Dianna’s hand Jerry said with sincerity, “It’s in God’s hands.”
  • He was able to stand briefly with help today

On the other hand, he has difficulty answering questions and identifying objects correctly.

Conversations are continuing about next steps, and we’ll see how things go over the next few days.

Thanks again for all of the prayers, please keep them coming!

Tom understands the frustration of knowing object or person but not able to say the name or have the wrong answer. Or hearing the name or place and not sure of what they are saying but you know if you can see it even though its hard to express it. Strength will return with healing and practice and adaption. Continued prayers. Yes Jerry. God knows.

So happy to hear of the small steps! My husband had stroke almost a year ago and is doing very well considering the doctors didn’t give much hope for walking again. Now he walks with a walker and takes care of his own personal needs. There is so much hope for stroke patients now–the healthy part of the brain will retrain to take command of what was damaged–but it comes in small steps. Big time prayers going up for Jerry & Dianna and the family!
