Friday Update

It sounds like Jerry will remain in the hospital for continued observation until at least the first part of next week. As of today, he is able to lift his legs and communicate a little better. He still has peripheral vision issues on the right side. Discussions have started about rehab options and locations.

We are very thankful for all of the prayers, messages and support!

We are also grateful for God’s comfort and leading, including a few specific areas:

  • Jerry was at work in a medical setting when he first started having symptoms and was quickly assessed and transferred to the hospital in Walla Walla, and then airlifted to Spokane
  • Family members and a nurse who stayed back to cover another shift were present to help notice when his condition declined around the time of a shift change, so the appropriate interventions could be done quickly
  • The care staff have been amazing and supportive all along the journey so far

Thank you for including me in this journey. I am childhood friends of Dianna and recently my husband had a stroke–his experience has him walking with a walker and taking care of his own personal needs 10 months beyond stroke. We are praying for Jerry and the whole family.
